This old fortified farm is located near Lagos, between Praia da Luz and Burgau, 12km away from Lagos and 97 km far from Faro Airport.
This farm, located in an agricultural region very rich in figs and other agricultural products, has a small fort built in the XIV century that served as a defence against the pirates that went up the river Vale de Barão, after arriving at Boca do Rio.
The farm has 18 ha in organic production. An old irrigation system, working by gravity, starts in a water spring of roman origin.
The farmhouse is built around two courtyards. The fort courtyard (3) gives access to the Tower House, Watch House, Salting House and kitchen.
Before coming to the pirates courtyard, first we pass through Casa do Garibaldi. Already in the courtyard, wkere is the carpot that covers the formar place where compost was made, we have access to the Vacaria, Casa dos Bezerrinhos, still under recovering and the Barn.
